STEVE JANKOWSKI - Trumpet, Fluglehorn, Piccolo Trumpet, Valve Trombone, E.V.I. (wind synthesizer) Composer, Arranger, Producer Steve Jankowski is an accomplished musician with proven skills as a performer, composer, arranger, producer, and engineer in a wide range of musical styles. Steve is thrilled to be a current member of Blood Sweat and Tears. Check the Schedule page for any touring dates near you. Recently, Steve was honored once again to play with the legendary horn band Chicago. One of only three trumpet players to ever play with the band, Steve completed the east coast leg of their 25th Anniversary tour 14 years ago in Lee Loughnane’s absence. Playing with Chicago again this past summer was certainly a thrill for Steve. Some of Steve’s other recent career highlights include touring the U.S. and Europe with Lifetime Achievement Grammy award winners "The Funk Brothers" (featuring Steve Winwood and Billy Preston), a Carnegie Hall performance with Aretha Franklin, concert performances with Nile Rodgers and Chic including the 2006 Montreux Jazz Festival backing up various artists including Chaka Kahn, George Duke, Robert Plant, and Steve Winwood, various concert performances with Donna Summer, including Madison Square Garden, an appearance with Shakira on the Late Show with David Letterman, and a party for the King of Morocco in Morocco. Steve's recording credits as a musician include performances on Amy Grant's "House of Love", for which he received a double platinum award, Darryl Hall's "Move on Up", a gold record, and recordings for Yoko Ono, Luther Vandross, Jay Z., Monty Alexander, Eric Benét, Urge Overkill, Cinderella, a Rolling Stones re-mix, The Mighty Mighty Bosstones, Big Chief, Leon Huff, Soul Kitchen, Andrew Dice Clay, and commercials for Comcast, Polaroid, Kentucky Fried Chicken, Nabisco, and others. Steve can be seen on film in 20th Century Fox's "Dice Rules", an in-concert comedy film featuring Andrew Dice Clay. Steve arranged the horn parts and played trumpet on Dice's single "Brooklyn Bad Boy", and appeared in the music video of the same title, which is the opening scene of the movie. He was the trumpet player and horn arranger on Dice's History Making North American Arena tour which ended with two sold out performances at Madison Square Garden . As an engineer/producer, Steve’s credits include “ A Thousand Words” by singer/songwriter Deena Miller on Fore Reel Records, "Under a Big Bright Yellow Umbrella" and “What’s Eatin Yosi” by Children's Artist Yosi (#2 on the XM satellite radio (XM kids channel), a contemporary Jazz release “A Morning View” by renowned saxophonist Ralph Bowen, an R&B release entitled ”Don’t Look Back” by New York vocalist “T-Bone”, a debut self-titled cd by "Tom Timko and the Horndogs", and a soon-to-be-released smooth jazz cd titled “Sunday Shuffle” by bassist Chris Plunkett. Early on, Steve earned his Bachelor's Degree in Music Performance at The Manhattan School of Music while working extensively in the New York freelance music scene. Some early accomplishments include performances at the Metropolitan Opera House, Carnegie Hall, solo trumpet in residence at St. Bartholomew's Cathedral and Immanuel Lutheran, and performances with the Bobby Rosengarden Band, Xavier Cugat Orchestra (solo trumpet), Duke Ellington's "Sophisticated Ladies" (solo and lead trumpet), "La Cage Aux Folles", Manhattan Transfer, The Temptations, Martha Reeves, Billy Idol, the Four Tops, and tours of "A Chorus Line" and "On the 20th Century". Steve’s professional affiliations include membership in the A.F. of M. (American Federation of Musicians), S.A.G. (Screen Actors Guild), and N.A.R.A.S. (National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences
