It all started when my first child was turning one. I made the decision to make his first birthday cake. I purchased a Wilton character pan and followed the directions. To my surprise it was easier than I had thought and everyone seemded impressed. So every year I would bake and design the cake for my children’s birthdays.
Three years later I decided to make Easter decorated sugar cookies for a class favor. They were a big hit with the kids so each holiday I made and packaged the cookies for their classes. Parents and teachers stared asking me about them and if I do that for a living, so I thought I would give it a try.
I began making and decorating the cookies to go along with the theme of the cake and had lots of fun creating them. Mom’s loved the idea of packaging the cookies with a thank you for coming to the party. I decided to take some cake decorating classes to perfect my cake decorating technique. I also experimented with my cake and cookie recipes so that each and every item tasted as good as it looked. In 2002 I began advertising by “word of mouth” and with the help of family and friends have built a steady clientele.
It has been a blessing to be able to work out of my home and to use my creative talents for something I truly enjoy. Another bonus has been meeting all the new people whom I’ve had the pleasure of working with. I’m excited to bring to you my selections and know that each item is handmade with care and concern for detail to turn out the best possible result for your special occasion.
